Tyrol Basin Reunion 2010.
Jeff Braksoma and I have been talking about having a Tyrol Basin reunion for a couple years now. Hopefully this year is the year. In an effort to make this happen I have revitalize doUcarve and I am making it the home for planning the reunion snowboard trip.
There are some many of us to bring together so lets start spreading the word.
Based on the first inquiry I will put up Mammoth Mountain or Vail Mountain as the first two options for the trip. There are a lot of us already at Vail so it is a logical location to host the event. I also know how much we all love Mammoth Mountain.
We also need to pick a date for the trip. I am thinking the last week of February or first week of March.
I will be adding a forum to this site and will make a private section for all of the Tyrol Crew. To get access to the Tyrol section you will need to message me and I will grant you access.
Looking forward to riding with you all soon.

Our friends at Bustin' Boards have just released a new creation. Check out the official press release from Bustin; Boards. (Hoboken, NJ. September 5) – Bustin Boards announces the release of their latest deck, the Spliff, after years of development. Following continued success with their first two models, the Complex and Cigar boards, the Spliff will continue to provide customers with the smooth ride and one of a kind graphics they’ve come to expect from Bustin.
The Spliff represents nearly three years of development and engineering. "We spent a crazy amount of time refining this model,” says co-owner Ryan Daughtridge. “We could have started production a year ago, but we decided to continue working on the design until we were satisfied with every aspect of the shape.”
Anticipation for the latest design has steadily grown after prototypes were spotted at previous longboard events. “We’ve had customers contacting us for the past 12 months asking us to start production or offering to buy one of the older prototypes,” says production manager Nick Faust. “We’re really looking forward to customer feedback on the final shape.”
The deck features six ply Canadian maple veneer, cold-pressed with a composite glue. With multiple rear truck mounting positions, riders will be able to fine tune their setup based on their personal riding style. Customers will be able to select from numerous graphics, custom color combinations and different component options. The Spliff board will be offered exclusively through the Bustin Boards website. A special video featuring the Spliff board can be seem at www.bustinboards.com/spliff_video.asp.

There are a lot of internet skate shops to choose from. I was taken aback at all the bad prices and weird HTML design out there. Since it is about time for a new board (spring time), maybe some of the doUcarve audience could use a hand picking a site to patron. Instead of picking the gnarliest review and being overly negative, I opted for a suggestion: Skates on Haight. Grade: A Second date: (enthusiastically!) yes
